ASPE Event "HAARP-The Update"

Conspiracy theorists, environmentalists and paranormal enthusiasts will all have an opportunity to speculate about activities surrounding the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) Saturday, January 16 after a presentation of "HAARP-The Update" video. The event, sponsored by Alliance Studying Paranormal Experiences (ASPE), begins at 2 pm at the Angel Fire Community Center, 71 Valley Road. General admission is $5, discounted to $4 for those who are over 60, under 18, military, firefighters or EMTs.

"HAARP-The Update" continues the compelling discussion begun by Dr. Nick Begich in his best-selling book "Angels Don't Play this HAARP" in which he claimed HAARP is an electromagnetic weapon designed to manipulate the environment, jam global communications, disrupt weather systems, interfere with migration patterns, and disrupt human mental processes. Begich has testified as an expert witness about the HAARP project before the European Parliament, Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the Subcommittee on Security and Disarmament.

HAARP is a 3.6-million-watt facility located in Gakona, Alaska. The project is funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which is a development arm of the U.S. Department of Defense. DARPA describes its research as running the gamut from conducting laboratory investigations to building full-scale military system prototypes. The HAARP website claims the project is "a scientific endeavor aimed at studying the properties and behavior of the ionosphere, with particular emphasis on being able to understand and use it to enhance communications and surveillance systems for both civilian and defense purposes." Equipment at the facility includes a high-power, high-frequency (HF) phased array radio transmitter and numerous radio frequency and optical research instruments.

According to Begish, HAARP is outgrowth of the Star Wars technology inaugurated during Ronald Reagan's presidency which employs dangerous advancements in electronic frequency research conducted by civilian scientists Nikola Tesla, W.O. Schumann, James Van Allen and others. HAARP also has enormous implications with regard to the paranormal, including extraterrestrial contact, Bible prophecy, earth changes, and mind control. Locally, HAARP has even been connected to the Taos Hum. For those interested in more HAARP background, a definitive essay detailing the history of the project written by Jerry E. Smith in 2006 can be accessed at www.rense.com/general70/haarp.htm.

Lively discussion is expected, and wearing a tinfoil hat might be a good idea.
