Craft Beers, Harleys, Live Music and BBQ Featured Saturday, September 4, 2010

Angel Fire Resort announced it will host its second annual Bikes, Blues & Brews Party in front of the Lodge at Angel Fire. Popular microbrews and craft beers, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle showcase and great live music will be the main attractions in and around the big-top tent. On-site raffle proceeds will benefit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial/ David Westphall Foundation, on behalf of the Run-for-the-Wall motorcycle reunion.

“We rolled out Bikes, Blues & Brews last year as one more great reason to celebrate Labor Day Weekend in Angel Fire,” says Andy Whitacre, special events manager for Angel Fire Resort. “The party was a huge hit. This year we’re dialing it up with added microbreweries, sneak peeks at the new 2011 Harley Davidson Motorcycles presented by Santa Fe Harley, plus one of New Mexico’s best live bands, The Rudy Boy Experiment, not to mention the chance to win some great door prizes.”

The Saturday schedule of events is as follows:

3-7pm Angel Fire’s 2010 People’s Choice Beer Challenge & Top Beer Awards

New Mexico’s top microbreweries will compete for the People’s Choice award voted on by all event attendees. Participating microbreweries include Abbey Beverage Co, Blue Corn Brewery, Comanche Creek, High Desert, Marble Brewing Company, Odell, Rio Grande, Santa Fe Brewing Company, and Sierra Blanca. Brewers will be on site to discuss their special recipes.

The beers from these New Mexico microbreweries, as well as craft beers from out-of-state participants Del Norte, Kona, Redhook and Widmer, will all compete for the “Top Beer” award.

Admission to the microbrew challenge is $15 and includes the event beer sampling and voting and admission to the evening live music event. All participants will receive a souvenir tasting glass filled with their top-rated brew. In addition, every attendee will be entered into the KKTC-True Country FM Mega Concert Weekend Giveaway. This grand prize drawing is sponsored by KKTC-True Country FM and includes a VIP concert package to see The Zac Brown Band and Brand Paisley’s H2O World Tour on September 18 and 19 at the Hard Rock Pavilion in Albuquerque. Prize includes lodging.

7-10pm Bikes & Blues Bash

Come party to the live music of The Rudy Boy Experiment! There will be BBQ available for purchase along with a full cash bar and a great selection of beer vendors. Door prizes at the evening event include VIP tickets to the BB King/ Buddy Guy concert at Sandia Casino & Resort in Albuquerque on Saturday, September 18. Admission for the evening Bikes & Blues Bash only is $5. You must be 21 or older to attend.
