Hot Times in Cool Angel Fire

2013-07-13  —  Summer is in full swing in Angel Fire, New Mexico. Temperatures during the daytime are generally in the low to mid-70ís and we are starting our monsoon season, which brings a rain shower most late afternoons to refresh the beautiful green forests and meadows. The wildflowers are out and most of the hiking and walking trails in and around Angel Fire are showing their finest in the native columbine, lupine and wild mountain daisies.

All of our summer activities are going strong and providing recreation for all of our summer visitors. The Angel Fire Mountain Bike Park is again showing great numbers of bikers enjoying the fun and challenging trails on the mountain. At the top of the mountain, the Angel Fir Zip Line Adventure is a very popular attraction and reservations are almost required to take the 3 hour adventure. For reservations, call 575-377-4320.

Elsewhere in Angel Fire, the Angel Fire golf Course is busy with folks enjoying the day golfing on our 18 hole, par 72 mountain course. The paddle boats and row boats are out on Monte Verde Lake and fishing for rainbow trout is strong most mornings and evenings.

For the kids, the Angel Fire Resort Mountain Day camp keeps the little ones, aged 2 to 6 busy with activities and outdoor fun. Call 575-377-4213 for details. Kids aged 5 years to 12 years can also enjoy their own directed recreational activities at the Angel Fire Community Center. For details about these adventures, call 575-377-1544. Both camps are available weekdays until August 9th.

Just about every weekend throughout the summer, we have special events and activities like softball tournaments happening in and around Angel Fire. Come on up and enjoy the great cool mountain air and have some fun!
