Zipline Tours to make July exciting in Angel Fire

2012-06-26  —  Tours have started for the specatular three-hour Rocky Mountain Zipline Adventure Tour in Angel Fire! The tours will start at the 10,600 elevation summit of the Angel Fire ski mountain. This is the first and only zipline in New Mexico! On the signature segment of the tour, adrenaline seekers will fly fifty-stories above the forest floor as they traverse from peak to peak, side by side, on a 1,600' foot tandem zipline.

For the uninitiated, a zipline is a station-to-station adventure ride, which consists of a cable stretched between points of different elevations, a pulley, and a harness or bar for attaching a rider, who moves by gravity. A zipline tour connects multiple ziplines of varying lengths and descents. Ziplines are among the most popular new attractions at many destination resorts, ski mountains, and even on cruise ships.

The Zipline Adventure Tour, will start at the 10,600' summit of the ski mountain, and will proceed in a station-to-station tour around the mountaintop. The tour will include 6 separate zip line segments of varying lengths, including the one dual tandem ride. Everyone new to the sport will be offered a short "flight school" zipline near the top for lessons and practice, as well as a tandem or "racing" zipline to allow family and friends to ride side-by-side together.

Cost: $89 plus tax per person. Includes all required safety equipment.

Maximum Capacity: 10 zipline riders per tour. Tour starts staggered by 45 minutes.

Requirements: Shirts, closed shoes, and a signed waiver by participants 18 years and older or Parent/Guardian for participants 17 years and younger; weight restrictions are minimum 80 pounds to maximum 280 pounds.

Reservations are strongly recommended for the Zipline Adventure Tours. Call 575-377-4320 to book your adventure.

Schedule of Operations: Opens July thru mid-October 2012. 10am to 5pm. Normal operations are concurrent with chairlift operations schedule (varies by season). Individual reservations and walk-ins accepted for normal operations. All tours are weather permitting.
